PGA Professional Blain Bertrand

My name is Blain Bertrand, and I’ve spent my life in two demanding arenas: the golf course and the military. I grew up in Texas, started playing at age six, and my very first golf shot went straight into the hole. That moment hooked me and set the tone for everything that followed — discipline, repetition, and respect for the game.

After serving in the United States Army as a Combat Engineer and Armored Crewman during the Gulf War, I moved to Germany and completed a full PGA apprenticeship. Over the next 30 years, I worked as a PGA Teaching Professional and eventually as a Head PGA Professional at multiple clubs, coaching thousands of golfers from beginners to elite amateurs. I also competed, won events, and set course records along the way.

For many years, I taught mostly swing mechanics: positions, angles, planes, and numbers. It helped, but it wasn’t the whole story. I saw golfers with “good swings” still fall apart under pressure — and others with imperfect mechanics score well because they were calm, clear, and disciplined.

That’s why my work now is simple: mindset leads, swing follows. I help golfers find a calmer, more centered state before every shot, build a clear, no-nonsense routine, deal with mistakes without emotional chaos, and create rhythm instead of tension. Mechanics are still part of the picture, but they support the center — they don’t replace it.

Today, as a homebound veteran, I coach exclusively online, offering clear, personalized coaching through video and voice. No gimmicks. No theories of the month. Just solid habits, honest feedback, and a practical path to more stable golf from someone who has lived this game his entire life and still cares deeply about helping players improve.
